Will you be D&G’s ‘Maiden of Music’?
After a successful first year in 2016, Maidens of Music will return to Dumfries from the 6th of May as a festival and they are looking for female musicians and songwriters of all ages to take part.
With support from the D&G Regional Arts Fund, Maidens of Music will host events that will take place every Saturday in May. It will culminate in a competition on the 27th of May which will crown the “Maiden of Music 2017”. The festival will be part of the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.
Details of the May events are:
Saturday 6th May – 3pm to 9pm @ The Courtyard outside The Music Room/Globe Inn and Hugos on Bank Street
Saturday 13th May – 3pm to 9pm @ The Courtyard outside The Music Room/Globe Inn and The Usual Place on Academy Street
Saturday 20th May – 3pm to 9pm @ The Courtyard outside The Music Room/Globe Inn and the Coach and Horses on the Whitesands
Saturday 27th May – 12 noon to midnight – The Plainstanes (with D&G Arts Festival 12 noon to 5pm), The Theatre Royal (3pm to 7pm).
Entry to all events is free with the exception of:
Saturday 27th May – The Theatre Royal Auditorium with Tinderbox (7pm to 8:30pm) Tickets £10
The competition to crown The Maiden Of Music will take place at The Live Lounge, English Street from 8:30pm to midnight. Tickets are £12.50.
