Small Town Sounds and Finding Albert hand over £500 to Mark Smith of community radio station Alive 107.3fm

Small Town Sounds is a 12 track CD made up of Dumfries & Galloway musicians to raise money for local charities. It was officially released on the 25th of October 2013, with a hugely successful launch gig taking place at The Venue in Dumfries on the same night.

So far the CD sales and ticket sales from the launch gig have raised over £1600 for local charities including the children’s ward at DGRI, Langlands School and community radio station Alive 107.3fm.

The first Small Town Sounds CD was put together by Melissa Gunn and Ross Strawbridge who were both passionate about the local music scene and were keen to find a way to showcase it whilst supporting local charities.

Special thanks goes to all of the musicians who generously donated their tracks, Graham Hollinger of Hollinger Creative for the amazing graphic design, Sean McCole for coming up with the Small Town Sounds name, Grant Henderson from Lovers Lane Studios for the mastering of the tracks, Simon James from The Venue for his continued help and support, Glenn Moonie from Moonie Photography for the promotional photos for the CD, Steve and Abby at Purplebox Productions for the stunning projections at the launch gig, Dave Miller for his fantastic sound engineering at the launch gig and Ricky Henderson for the gig photography.
