Queen of the South Pub to host night of metal music!
This Sunday night (26th February), the Queen of the South Pub in Dumfries will welcome some exciting players in the Scottish metal scene as Deadly Inscription and Archives will be co-headliners at the live music venue.
As part of their Scottish Takeover tour, Paisley band Deadly Inscription and Dunfermline’s Archives are very much looking forward to performing live in Dumfries.
Colin Campbell of Deadly Inscription told Small Town Sounds, “We at Deadly Inscription are ecstatic to be returning to Dumfries this February to round off what’s promising to be an amazing run of co-headline Scottish dates. For years, we as a band and as individuals have enjoyed the madness that is Dumfries, and to say we enjoy our visits would be an understatement. We can’t wait to see our friends, family and fans when we return this Sunday to play The Queen of the South. Dumfries, prepare for a night you won’t forget.”
Steven Ness of Archives is equally as excited: “Having never played Dumfries before we’re excited to spread our music to new pastures. If it’s one thing we love collectively as a band it’s experiencing new places and playing in new venues to new faces. We all can’t wait for this tour to kick off what is looking already to be an exciting one.”
They will be supported by the much respected local metal band, Turbyne. Vocalist Keith Fleming said, “We are very excited to be playing at the QoS along side two amazing bands in Deadly Inscription and Archives, its a great feeling to be asked to be apart of it! It will be our first time playing at the QoS and cannot wait to kick off what should be a brutal night of metal!”
The first band will be on stage at 6pm, with the evening finishing at 9pm.
Mark Irving, co-owner of the Queen of the South Pub, commented, “Deadly Inscription played The Venue a while back and I’ve wanted to book them since then. Their Scottish tour seemed the perfect opportunity to get them in, and it means we are lucky to get Archives in as well who I am absolutely buzzing to see live for the first time. We also managed to get Turbyne, who I’d argue are the biggest metal band in the region! I always prefer metal gigs in small sweaty venues, and this one had 3 awesome bands spanning the metal spectrum and it’s free entry!”
