Heavier Than Metal to host metal and rock night
Heavier Than Metal will be hosting a night of metal and rock at The Venue in Dumfries.
The line up features an interesting combination of bands:
Baleful Creed are a heavy rock band from Northern Ireland. Formed in 2009, the band have released several EPs since their debut EP ‘Killing Time’ which was released at the end of the year they formed. They were recently finalists in the Hard Rock Hell – Highway To Hell 4 in Glasgow, and have played gigs all over Northern Ireland.
Heavy Smoke describe themselves as a ‘weird hard rock band’ from Glasgow. They have concentrated on playing in the Central Belt until now, and this will be their first visit to Dumfries.
Kasama (who were formerly Black Mango until very recently) are an interesting choice for this line up, which I am sure you will agree sounds rather heavy rock up until this point. Based in Kirkcudbright, the band have more of a indie/softer rock swagger than the other two bands (you can read our review of them at Stranraer’s Park Fest from last year here). However, they’re a great band, and it’s good to see a local band on this line-up.
Darren Andrews from Heavier Than Metal said, “Chris, Davie and I are really looking forward to this gig. Dumfries is up for a treat with 3 excellent bands that bring their own unique twist to the rock genre. Chris and I will be introducing the bands and providing music between the acts . It’s Star Wars day and what a great way to spend it!”
