Chasin’ The Train to release debut single
On Friday 27th of April 2018, Dumfries blues rockers Chasin’ The Train will release their debut single on all digital platforms.
The band are unleashing a classic format Double ‘A’ Side single comprising of two original tracks.
‘Whisky Bottle’ is a Southern Rock stormer, with shades of Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, sizzling with retro guitar, pounding bass, rock solid drums, and an anthemic chorus.
‘Exit Wounds’ is a more laid back classic blues lament, with Tom Cuddihy’s vocal brimming with emotion, complemented by mournful blues harp from harmonica man Howlin’ Bob Clements.
Both tracks were recorded and produced by Dave Miller at Circa 16 Sound Recording in Dumfries, with the band recording live together in the studio. The band say that this approach brought out the best in them, as their live sound has been honed through countless live gigs and they were able to capture the raw feel of a gig in the studio.
Rory Nelson from Chasin’ The Train explained, “The tracks were recorded in demo format in early 2017, and were added to our ever-changing set list in order to “road-test” them and fine-tune the sound. ‘Whisky Bottle’ and ‘Exit Wounds’ both became firm favourites with the us and audiences, so it was only natural to choose them to be our first release.”
The band will hold a special launch gig on the 27th of April at the Coach and Horses in Dumfries. You can join the Facebook event here. They will also be playing at the Frunge at the Elmarglen in Thornhill on Saturday the 5th of May 2018 and have recently been announced as part of the line up of the sold out Beltie Beer Festival in Dumfries in June.
