Blueprint100 presents the Song Factory
Are you under 30 and an aspiring musician? Do you dream of writing and recording your own music?
Blueprint 100 in association with DGU and Dumfries and Galloway Council bring you Song Factory, a set of five FREE workshops aimed to take young musicians through the process of writing, recording and releasing a track. With each week focusing on a different aspect, you will be mentored by music professionals as well as getting your final piece recorded at Lovers Lane Studios and played live on local community radio station, Alive 107.3fm.
Workshops will run every Wednesday evening from the 14th of June to the 5th of July, with the final workshop a month later on the 2nd of August.
Alix Adair of Blueprint 100 explained, “Making a name for yourself in music has become increasingly difficult, with the singles chart now based on streaming making it near-impossible for new artists to break into. Of course, this seems like a distant dream to most aspiring musicians as many can’t even afford to get their music recorded. Working with fellow musicians on the course and professionals there to help young writers create their best, we will also fund them to record their final pieces and promote them on local radio Alive107.3fm. It’s a small step, but a vital one as with recordings comes gigs, a growing audience, and exposure.”
Spaces are limited to 16 individuals who will be chosen primarily on a first-come-first-served basis – so make sure to apply asap to avoid missing out on this fantastic opportunity.
