Name of musician: Stoney Broke AKA Jake Scott

Location: Dumfries

I would describe my music as… an eclectic inspired mix of blues, soul, country, rock and everything!

Background information:
Citing influences such as Frankie Miller, Ben Harper, Otis Redding, Chris Stapleton, and Jeff Healey, Stoney Broke has a strong lyrical range, layered upon a driving guitar style, drawing the listener into hook laden tracks.

High quality performances, commanding stage presence, and a reputation as a hard working performer, has seen Stoney Broke regularly perform across Scotland and North England. No stranger to performing in front of large audiences, appearances at venues and festivals in the UK and Australia, including; Port Fairy Folk Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, Scarborough Blues Festival, and Southport Blues Festival, along with high profile support slots for The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Xander and The Peace Pirates, Wille And The Bandits, The Stumble, Onr, and Fall Has Come.

Stoney Broke seem to blend it all together into a finely aged, oak casked fusion of smooth, haunting melodies” – New Hellfire Club, Glasgow.

2016’s independent debut EP release, “If It Ain’t Broke…” helps to showcase the high quality songwriting ability, and enhance the growing reputation, with a follow up album release currently in progress!

(EP available direct from Stoney Broke, via eBay, Barnstorm records in Dumfries, and The New Hellfire Club Glasgow)

Plans for 2019

Stoney Broke told us, “Every year I say the last has exceeded expectations, so I’ll try and avoid saying that again! This year has been great; new releases (“Got It”), T-shirt merch, worldwide radio play, tours, festivals, and everything in between, totalling thousands of miles in travel! I’ve been lucky to share the stage with some really big touring acts, and blown away by the crowd response across the UK. Next year is already looking packed, including two tours, more festivals, and support slots, and the release of more new material! Thanks to Small Town Sounds for the interviews, shares, and support! Good luck to everyone for the year ahead!”
