Alex Maxwell releases video for debut single
Dumfries singer-songwriter Alex Maxwell has released a brand new video to accompany his debut single.
The video for the track ‘The Want Comes In Waves’ was produced by Ryan Jon Amey Henderson (https://www.rjahfilms.co.uk) and stars Robin Hellier and Lissa Robertson alongside Alex himself.
We asked Alex about the video and what his future plans include:
“It feels great to finally release a song and I’m extra happy that I’ve been able to do so with a piece of art which fairly represents the song. I think that it’s a happy marriage of visual narrative with the song. It was great working with Ryan on the video. When I spoke with him, we shared ideas on how to best capture the song and in the end, I think he did a brilliant job capturing this considering it’s not the longest song. Hopefully some more people can hear my music from this and I can then push on with the full EP release, for which I’m just putting the finishing touches to. I have another couple of videos in the pipeline too. For now I hope that people enjoy this first offering.”
Alex has been a regular part of the Dumfries and Galloway music scene for the past couple of years and was recently named ‘Artist of the Week’ in The Scotsman newspaper. Most recently he has been concentrating on gigging as part of the festival circuit, playing at the Kelburn Garden Party and Eden Festival. His upcoming gigs include the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on the 20th of July followed by Mugstock Festival in Glasgow on the 26th of July.
